Regional Workshop for the Review of the Standards of Excellence for Public Administration Education and Training in Portuguese

Diogo Pereira,

The United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA) and the International Association of Schools and Institutes of Administration (IASIA) are organizing a Regional Workshop for the Review of the Standards of Excellence for Public Administration Education and Training.  The workshop will take place on February 20, 2024, from 8:30 am to 11:30 am, New York time, and will be conducted in Portuguese.

The objective of the workshop is to gather contributions on the review and/or update of the Standards of Excellence for Public Administration Education and Training which were originally established in 2008, before the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Although the Standards remain relevant, they do not encompass recent inter-governmental agreements and the insights gained from the work carried out by UN DESA/DPIDG and IASIA in public administration education and training. Therefore, in 2023, UN DESA, through its Division for Public Institutions and Digital Government (DPIDG) and Project Office on Governance (UNPOG), along with IASIA, formed a Task Force to review and possibly update the Standards of Excellence for Public Administration Education and Training.

All schools of public administration, networks, academia, and representatives of international and regional organizations, including all actors and stakeholders, are cordially invited to participate in this event.

We seize the opportunity to invite you to participate actively in the UNDESA/IASIA Survey on Review of Standards of Excellence for PA Education and Training, a crucial initiative to enhance global public administration standards.
